Did you know?
- There are more than 147 million orphans in the world today. That number does NOT include abandoned or trafficked children.
- In 2011, the orphans of the world could have ranked NINTH in the World Population Rankings
- Every day 5,760 more children become orphans in Africa alone
- Worldwide, orphans spend an average of 10 years in orphanages and foster homes. 300 million of those children are subjected to violence, exploitation, and abuse.
- Many of the children who grow up as orphans are trapped in a life of poverty and crime and never know the love of a family.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
Proverbs 31:8-9
Not everyone is called to adopt, but ANYONE can love and minister to orphans whether through orphan care or through adoption.
That is what ONE LESS 2012 is about.
